Receiving feedback and evaluating our processes and projects
have been integral to the progress of our work over the past three
years.
By receiving feedback from schools, students, employers and
co-workers we have been able to modify and improve and adapt to the
suggestions and needs of our clients. Internal evaluation is
ongoing and inbuilt to all of our projects and processes. This has
resulted in an improved outcome for students.
Previous to 2009, we have conducted evaluations on the
following:
- Structured Workplace Learning which has resulted in a
complete change of direction from service provision to assisting
students to find their own work placements
- Hands On Health which has seen the addition of an extra
RMIT school (The School of Health Sciences) joining the 2009 event.
The result has been a greater range of activities and an increased
take up from schools
- Our Local World Of Work which has seen a change from one
large regional event to a proliferation of smaller, local events.
School personnel have also become more active in the organisation
and conduct of these local events. The result has been a more
‘local’ flavour and more attendance by employers at the different
events.
- Real Industry Job Interviews has seen some minor changes
in the organisation of this popular project and event
- Try A Trade, a regionally organised event, which has
grown and expanded into a large feature on the calendars of six
local councils involved in sponsoring the event.
The next few pages describe a more detailed outline of the
evaluations conducted so far. It is planned to conduct further
evaluations in the second half of 2009.
