Regional events to promote Vocational and Trade Pathways

In 2006/2007, Career Connections - RMIT teamed together with other CAA (Career Advice Australia) providers to develop two key initiatives to strengthen young people's knowledge of VET pathways and heighten the profile of VET across the Northern region. These events are:
The new 'Northern Melbourne (VET) Awards'
The new Northern 'Try-a-Trade' event   Click on the links to above to find out more about these events and see photos. The Northern Melbourne VET Awards and Try-a-Trade were very well supported by our schools across the 5 LPC regions.

The Steering Committe for these events are comprised of:

2. Career Connections – KBT (LCP)
3. Banyule Nillumbik LLEN (LCP)
4. Northern Regional Industry Career Advicer (RICA)
5. North West Regional Industry Career Adviser (RICA)
   

The Northern Region Department of Education and Training (DET) also on the steering committee for the Northern VET Student and Employer Awards

Planning is underway for next year for both events.
